The goal of this book is to present a complete mathematical framework for Bézier and B-Spline representations. The book focuses on concepts of computer-aided geometric design (CAGD) and is divided into three parts. Part 1 deals with Bézier and B-spline curves. Part 2 focuses on surfaces including triangular patches, and regular and arbitrary nets, and Part 3 covers multivariate splines, including box splines and simplex splines. This is an advanced mathematical textbook, suitable for an in-depth graduate level course in the mathematics of splines and/or an advanced course in mechanical engineering for those students who are interested in CAGD. It is also suitable as a reference text (although it does not cover rational splines). The focus of the book is on proofs and properties of splines, and a rigorous approach to the material is presented. The book is clearly written with many illustrative figures.
