Abstract

This collection of essays relates to Artificial Intelligence, and discusses its diverse manifestations and aspects. Ordinarily, Artificial Intelligence is discussed in its relationship the possibility pf causing unemployment. But here in this book, the author has endeavored to provide focus on diverse aspects of this attribute of human development that has immense societal, technological, cultural, and even civilizational variations and holds awesome possibilities for the future of economic development and civilizational and ethical alteration. The possible ethical aspects of use of the Artificial Intelligence are viewed in proper perspective, and so are the probability of humanizing the robots. The concern of use of Artificial Intelligence as a weapon of destruction in War has been viewed in proper perspective. And the reason is to ensure that the reader gets a complete and comprehensive view of the issue. The essays are an attempt to elucidate and explain the different dimensions, as well as study those characteristics that are either given a go-by or just glossed over. The essays also take into consideration the fears that many people entertain: fears about economy, unemployment and even the emergence of a situation that might make human being surplus. The essays are explanatory and provocative; and mean to inform you and make you think. At times, they are academic in nature, but the underlying purpose is to make you think and react.
