Abstract
The papers contained in this volume are being presented at the 1970 ACM SICFIDET Workshop on Data Description and Access, sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Committee on File Description and Translation (SICFIDET). The discussion summaries also contained in this volume form the basis for a series of discussions.
The paper manuscripts presented here have not been formally refereed and some of the results represent a preliminary report of continuing research. It is anticipated that some of these papers will appear in more polished and complete form in scientific journals.
